# Camera & screen setup

> Use the right browser, allow your camera, share your entire screen, and fix it if a permission gets blocked.

To take your test, your browser needs permission to use your **camera** and to **share your screen**. There's nothing to install — these are built into your browser. This page helps you get set up and fix the most common snags.

## Use the right browser and device

    The most reliable setup. Firefox and Safari can work too, but may have minor quirks.

    iPhones and iPads **can't share their screen**. If your test needs screen sharing, use a laptop or desktop.

  If your teacher set the test to **desktop only**, you can't start it on a phone or tablet — use a computer.

## Share your *entire* screen

When you click **"Start Test"**, your browser asks what to share. Choose your **entire screen** — not a single window and not a browser tab. If you pick the wrong one, you'll be asked to try again. Just pick the whole screen and continue.

## If your camera is blocked

If your camera won't turn on, re-allow it and reload:

        Change the camera permission to **Allow**.

        Open **Permissions for this site** and set **Camera** to **Allow**.

<Tip>
  Make sure no other app (Zoom, Teams, etc.) is using your camera — close those and reload. If you still don't get a prompt, check that your computer lets your browser use the camera.

## The setup screen seems stuck

After you allow access, you'll see **"Loading face detection…"**. On weak Wi-Fi this can take a little while — wait for **"Face detection is ready."** before reloading.

## If your screen sharing stops

If sharing stops during the test, share your **entire screen** again to keep going.
